Location

32 Washington Avenue · Schenectady, NY

About

This fall open house tour in Schenectady’s Historic Stockade neighborhood provides a rare chance to step inside some of the unique homes in New York State’s first historic district.

It features:
- Music
- Characters
- Exhibits at the Schenectady County Historical Society
- An archaeology dig
- Exhibits of artifacts left behind by early residents

It’s held in partnership with the Stockade StreetFest.

Several neighbors have graciously agreed to open the interior of their homes to visitors and tell secrets of the architecture and stories of the families that lived in them.

Locations also include the Schenectady County Historical Society, the Stockade Inn, neighborhood churches, and more!

The Stockade Walkabout is presented by the Stockade Association and the Schenectady County Historical Society, with proceeds benefiting Stockade preservation and beautification and SCHS' mission.
