Compost Happens! You don’t have to be an expert to be successful at backyard composting; you just need to learn a few basic tips and tricks to get cooking. It’s science; but it’s not rocket science!
Join the Ulster County Resource Recovery Agency’s Recycling Outreach Team for a community conversation about Home Composting Basics. This free workshop is designed for composters who are exploring different options and methods. The class will be hosted by Eva Barnett, Recycling Educator with the UCRRA’s Recycling Outreach Team.
The class will introduce the benefits of home composting and the principles of how to do it correctly, including:
- balancing browns and greens
- avoiding animals
- maintenance tips and more
Participants will also learn the pros and cons of different compost bins to help find the right option for their situation, and all the ways to use finished compost to boost garden soil health.
