Celebration of Shakespeare

In honor of Shakespeare Week, the William Kempe Players are performing a 90-minute reading of Shakespeare’s Macbeth at the Washington Avenue Branch.

The adaptation, created by Dan Smirlock, focuses on the relationship between Macbeth and his Lady, streamlines the politics and interactions with the supernatural, and remains committed to Shakespeare’s language and action.

Will Kempe’s Players is an "Original Practices" Shakespeare company, using—as much as possible—the texts, rehearsal, and staging practices of the early modern period.
