In Time: Festival Experience

It’s the 19th century at the Navy Yard! Time to meet the people who lived and served! Experience a fascinating trip back in time, guided by trained actors.

Live History, a Canadian Governor General’s Award–nominated international touring theatre company, produces site-specific mysteries in the US, Canada, and around the world, bringing local history to life.

Discover the lives of War of 1812 African American sailors, the 1860 Irish immigrant domestic servant women at the Commandant’s House, and Mrs. Frances Metcalf, caretaker of the yard from 1905 to 1916. Local actor and playwright Craig Thornton explains how actors play historic characters.
