About

Introductory Crochet
Thursday, November 5 | 5:30–7:30 PM
Instructor: Eleni Polychronidou

Discover the art of crochet in this beginner class. You’ll learn the foundational skills to enjoy this craft, starting with how to match yarn with the right hook size, make a slip knot, and create a foundation chain. The instructor will demonstrate different ways to hold your hook and yarn to find a comfortable method and achieve the right tension.

Practice three essential stitches—single crochet, half double crochet, and double crochet—and learn crochet abbreviations so you can read patterns. You’ll also learn easy tips for keeping rows straight and edges polished.

By the end of the session, you’ll be ready to practice your skills on a beginner-friendly project, such as a square coaster, bookmark, or iPhone case. You’ll leave with complete instructions, pattern variations, and the confidence to take on more advanced designs.
