Malta Repair Cafe

Sustainable Saratoga and the Innovation Center at Saratoga will host a Repair Café in Malta, NY, on Saturday, October 24, from 1–4 pm.

Repair Cafés are free community events focused on repairing broken objects to extend their life, keeping things out of landfills, and fostering an appreciation for the art of repair.

Examples of things we can likely repair (not an exhaustive list; we’ll try to repair anything you bring):
- Electrical items: lamps; hair dryers; kitchen appliances; plugs, switches, and power cords; clocks; vacuum cleaners; fans; games and toys; 3D printers
- Wooden items: furniture (chairs, small tables); toys and doll furniture; picture or mirror frames
- Clothes: replace buttons; hem pants or skirts; replace zippers; patch holes or tears; minor alterations
- Textiles: repair blankets and quilts; doll or stuffed animal repair
- Jewelry: replace clasps, restringing, gluing
- Computers: software installation, basic diagnostics, and troubleshooting
- Miscellaneous items: rewiring frames and mirrors, repairing broken ceramics, fixing things with stripped-out screws
