Where stories meet, friends connect, and opinions rule!
Are you ready to dive into worlds of magic, mystery, adventure, and maybe a little bit of chaos? Welcome to Tween Book Club, where reading isn't just a chore—it's a superpower!
Every month, we pick a fresh, exciting book that speaks to you. From graphic novels and fantasy epics to funny middle-grade adventures and sci-fi mysteries, we explore stories that matter to our age group. But we don't just read; we discuss, debate, and discover.
- No boring summaries: We skip the “what happened” recap and jump straight into the “why it matters.” Was the hero brave or reckless? Did the villain have a point? You decide.
- Creative challenges: Turn pages into art, write alternate endings, create character playlists, and act out favorite scenes.
- A safe, fun space: This is a judgment-free zone. Whether you loved the book or hated it, your opinion counts. We respect every voice and perspective.
Perfect for readers ages 9–12 who want to find their next favorite book, make new friends who love stories, share their thoughts without feeling pressured, and have fun while reading.
How it works:
- Pick up the book at the Children's Desk on Sept. 9 or download it from Libby or Hoopla. We will try to have the books in various formats—print, audio, and/or graphic novelization.
- Read at your own pace. No stress! Read when you can.
- Join our monthly meetup to chat, play games, and share your opinion.
December's book is The War That Saved My Life by Kimberly Brubaker Bradley.
