About
Zine Making Workshop — May 15, 12:00–1:00 — $15
Take an hour for yourself to let your creative juices flow, creating your own zine. What is a zine? It is a small, hand-made publication crafted from a single sheet of paper. Originating in the 1930s, zines have continued to foster spaces for creative ideas, unconventional topics, and social change.
You will be guided through the steps of creating a basic zine booklet, then use the rest of the hour to personalize the pages using various art materials provided by the instructor. At the end of the hour, you will have an individualized zine to share, trade, or start your own zine collection!
About Jude: I am a retired elementary school teacher and a lifeline crafter. My earliest memories are of me coloring at the kitchen table while my mom made dinner. In my retirement I have found my inner peace in taking and teaching various art classes and I am truly enjoying this next life chapter.
- Note: Due to working with donated and reclaimed materials, class projects may vary slightly from examples shown in our monthly calendar. We embrace these variations as part of the magic and uniqueness of every session.
- Classes at Thrifty Connections are intended for adults and suitable for individuals 16+.
