Dina Peone (she/they) is an award-winning professor, writer, and personal writing coach working on her first book, a memoir about escaping a house fire with severe burns and amputations as a teenager. A graduate of the University of Iowa Nonfiction Writing Program (’18), Dina designs and teaches creative writing classes for diverse audiences in various settings, from the University of Chicago to the Westchester County Correctional Facility. She was the Spring 2026 Writer in Residence at SUNY New Paltz, where her course on the literary aesthetics of trauma narratives culminated in a public showcase of performances and a feature article in the student-run newspaper, The Oracle.

Deepen your self-awareness and develop your unique voice on the page with creative journaling. In this workshop, we will develop a practice of self-reflection that strives for nonjudgment and freedom of expression. Prompts are provided, and sharing is optional. The only requirement is the love of introspection. Together, let’s nurture the curiosity and pleasure that may support and sustain long-form projects in autobiography.
