Come celebrate an extraordinary musician, beloved teacher, and true pillar of the American folk music community: Jay Ungar, turning 80!
For decades, Jay’s soulful fiddling, composing, and deep commitment to traditional music have inspired generations of musicians and listeners. Best known worldwide for the hauntingly beautiful “Ashokan Farewell,” Jay has devoted his life to keeping traditional music alive, bringing people together through music and dance, and helping make the Ashokan Center a home for learning, creativity, and community.
Now it’s our turn to celebrate this wonderful guy and musical legend with an afternoon of music, friends, family, and community.
