Tai Chi Beginner/Intermediate class led by David Cagan. Learn and study the Yang style short form.

Class is ongoing and offered free to the public. No commitment necessary. Please RSVP to classes you plan to attend. Donations gratefully accepted to benefit TEMPO Performing Arts Center.

Tai Chi Ch'uan is a path of mind and body integration, using gently meditative movement, for health, fun, and spiritual development.

The Yang style shortened form was developed by Professor Cheng Man-ch'ing, with permission from his teacher, Yang Cheng Fu. These two renowned tai chi masters of the 20th Century have passed on an invaluable gift that is available to all. The short form takes about 10 minutes to perform, and when practiced daily, can bring limitless benefits to health and wellbeing.

David Cagan originally learned the tai chi form at the age of 19 from Myles MacVane, a student of Prof. Cheng Man-ch'ing. Says David, "I have been studying tai chi for 45 years, but I still feel that I am just a beginner. There is so much to learn, so much the mind, body, and spirit can teach us!"

David will begin each class with Qigong warmups and then slowly guide the class through the positions of the tai chi form.
