Ages 18 and up. Open to all levels. Limited capacity; reservations recommended.
This class offers a structured, welcoming environment for drawing from the live model. Participants will work through a sequence of short and sustained poses, developing skills in gesture, proportion, line, and light. The class emphasizes close observation, consistency of practice, and the development of an individual approach to drawing.
Marine Penvern is a French-born, Hudson, NY-based oil painter focused on portraiture. Her practice is grounded in intuition, observation, and repetition, with close attention to the presence of the individual. She maintains a regular life drawing practice to sharpen her ability to see. Invited to lead life drawing sessions at Hudson Hall, her approach is rooted in intentional mark-making, where each line carries meaning and contributes to the whole.
