About

galère: [French (galƐr) noun. A group of people having a common interest, esp. a coterie of undesirable people.]

Expect the unexpected as poets, writers, and other creatives share their work and reveal the inspiration and stories behind the words.

Our Dec readers are Bibbe Hansen, Matthew Hupert, and Devin James Leonard.

Bibbe Hansen is a veteran of Andy Warhol’s Silver Factory and the 1960’s NY experimental theater and film underground. She is the daughter of Fluxus and Happenings artist Al Hansen, and the mother of visual artist Channing Hansen and pop musician Beck. A multiverse performer, musician and visual artist, she lives in Hudson and lectures, performs, and exhibits internationally.

Matthew Hupert is a writer and multi-media artist from New York City. Matthew hosts several poetry reading series, including the annual showcase for New York voices, Night in the Naked City, and the monthly series NeuroNautic Institute Presents. He is a recipient of the 2020 New York Acker Award for Show Organizer and Host. He has two full-length poetry collections, Ism is a Retrovirus (Three Rooms Press) and Secular Pantheism (NeuroNautic Press).

Devin James Leonard’s tales take place in rural, blue-collar settings, featuring working-class characters who go to great lengths to avoid legitimate work. His writing has appeared in over fifty magazines and anthologies. His debut novel, The Buddy Snatchers, was released in October 2026 from Crystal Lake Publishing.
