- Flatt Earth: Not long ago flat-pick master and Capital Region acoustic hero Jay Maloney connected some friends when he introduced Bill Keith-disciple Jonah Bruno to Ben and Chris Lane, aka. The Lane Brothers. The result was Flatt Earth, a moniker honoring the great Lester Flatt. Flatt Earth sets feature lots of bluegrass with original tunes, standards, and the occasional genre bending surprise. Harmonies and banjo rolls abound.
- Midnight choir: With melodic and playing techniques drawn from jazz, classical and global traditions, midnight choir delivers brilliantly arranged stringband music that stands out like a cool island in the sea of traditional bluegrass. Jeff Wasbes, Jon Doll and Jacob Ali.
