Jeff "Siege" Siegel

Drummer/composer Jeff "Siege" Siegel is a veteran of the New York jazz scene and has worked with a virtual "who’s who" of artists. A member of the Sir Roland Hanna Trio from 1994–1999, Siegel has performed and/or recorded with Ron Carter, Kenny Burrell, Jack DeJohnette, Benny Golson, Sheila Jordan, Helen Merrill, Mose Allison, John Medeski, Arthur Rhames, Dave Douglas, Stefon Harris, Pat Metheny, Kurt Elling, Ravi Coltrane, Ryan Kisor, Lee Shaw, the Levin Brothers, Dena DeRose, Wadada Leo Smith, and Baikida Carroll, among others. He has performed over 30 European tours, including four as leader of the Jeff "Siege" Siegel Quartet, and several as co-leader. The Jeff "Siege" Siegel Sextet performed a three-week tour of Africa in the summer of 2019. Other recent tours include work with The Levin Brothers in Japan, Mexico, Canada, and the U.S. west coast and Midwest, as well as South and Central America. His 2017 CD release "King of Xhosa" features South African trumpeter Feya Faku on the ARC label. Recent releases with his quartet include the 2018 ARC release "London Live" and "When You Were There" (2019) with Hetko, Syracuse & Siegel.

Erica Lindsay

Erica Lindsay began her studies in composition with Mal Waldron in Munich when she was fifteen. She played clarinet, then alto and tenor saxophone. In 1973 she studied for a year at the Berklee School of Music in Boston and then returned to Europe, where she formed a local quartet and went on tour. Since 1980 she has lived in New York. As a saxophonist she has worked with Melba Liston, Clifford Jordan, Dizzy Gillespie, McCoy Tyner, Reggie Workman, George Gruntz, and Pheeroan akLaff. Lindsay has composed for theater, television, and dance productions and worked with poets and performance artists such as Carl Hancock Rux, Janice King, Janine Vega, Mikhail Horowitz, and Nancy Ostrovsky. She led her own quartet and was co-leader of a quartet with Sumi Tonooka.

Francesca Tanksley

Francesca Tanksley holds a Master’s Degree in Music from Queens College, where she did graduate jazz piano studies with Sir Roland Hanna and composition studies with Jimmy Heath. She did post-graduate classical piano studies with Harry Jensen in New Paltz, New York. Tanksley has conducted jazz workshops at numerous colleges, including the University of Southern California at Santa Cruz, Hampton University, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and Bard College. She serves on the faculty of New School University’s Jazz and Contemporary Music Program in New York City. As accompanist with groups such as the Billy Harper Quintet and the Erica Lindsay Quintet, she has performed throughout Europe, East and Southeast Asia, Scandinavia, South America, and the United States, and appears on numerous CD releases. Other leading musicians she has performed with include Howard Johnson, Cecil Payne, David Newman, Nick Brignola, Slide Hampton, Pat LaBarbera, Sheila Jordan, Jay Clayton, Clifford Jordan, Charles Davis, and Pete Yellin. She has been a featured artist on Marian McPartland’s NPR series Piano Jazz and appears in the documentary Women In Jazz by Burrill Crohn. Tanksley also leads the Francesca Tanksley Trio.

Ron Horton

Ron Horton has performed and/or recorded with Lee Konitz, Will Holshouser, Neil Kirkwood, Rez Abbasi, Phillip Johnston, Andy Laster, Mick Rossi, Matt Wilson, Bill Gerhardt, Bill Mays, Peggy Stern, Allan Chase, Andy Biskin, Ted Nash, Jon Gordon, John McKenna, Walter Thompson, Diana Perez, Billy Newman, Mario Pavone, Tina Marsh, Maryanne DeProphetis, Landon Knoblock, Sam Bardfeld, Maria Guida, Abigail Riccards, Angie Sanchez, Kris Davis, and Darcy James Argue.

Rich Syracuse

Rich Syracuse, string bassist, electric bassist, and composer, has been a mainstay on the New York area scene for more than three decades. He won the Congress Of Strings Award at an early age and received a Bachelor of Music degree from Manhattan School of Music. Rich performed with The Group For Contemporary Music under conductors Charles Wournin and Harvey Solberger, the Hartford Ballet, and the New Jersey Lyric Opera Company. Early in his career he performed in jazz groups featuring pianists John Mehegan, Joey Calderazzo, and Ted Rosenthal. After moving to New York State’s Hudson Valley in the mid-1980s, he began a long-standing stint in the Nick Brignola Quartet, playing clubs, festivals, and recording sessions. He has also performed with Mose Allison, Kurt Elling, Dave Liebman, the Brubeck Brothers, Warren Bernhardt, Sumi Tonooka, David Torn, Mike DeMicco, Peter Levin, Sam Morrison, Bernard Purdy, Vic Juris, Dave Stryker, Chuck Lamb, Jeff "Siege" Siegel, Dena DeRose, John Medeski, Michael Musillami, and Ali Demogli. Rich was the bassist for jazz pianist Lee Shaw for over 25 years until her passing.
