About

Alliance, Intrigue, and the Shaping of Early America!

In April 1710, three Mohawk chiefs and one Mohican leader crossed the Atlantic to meet Queen Anne in London. This unprecedented diplomatic mission led to the construction of Fort Hunter and permanently reshaped the American frontier. This program explores English–Native American alliances in early 18th-century New York and the motives behind their mutual cooperation.

Loretta Tucker is an educator for Schoharie Crossing Historic Site.
