About
This version of Macbeth, adapted by Dan Smirlock and directed by Sandra Boynton, frames Shakespeare’s tragedy as an intimate domestic drama unfolding within a volatile political world and centered on the complex relationship between Macbeth and Lady Macbeth. As in Greek tragedy, it matters that the characters are kings and queens, but it matters more that they are spouses, parents (or not), and sons.
Live foley effects, music, and evocative design promise to make this a singularly unique retelling of this story.
This version of Macbeth should run no more than 90 minutes, and, depending on venue, will be performed without an intermission.
