Cris Jacobs has earned a reputation as one of the most compelling voices in modern American roots music. Blending bluegrass, folk, blues, soul, and rock, his songs are deeply personal, richly crafted into a sound that’s as dynamic as it is heartfelt, and delivered by a masterful guitarist with a soulful, elastic voice.

His latest album, One of These Days, marks both an artistic breakthrough and a personal one. Produced by dobro legend Jerry Douglas and featuring members of The Infamous Stringdusters, the album also includes guests such as:

On this album he tells stories of the locals from the Baltimore neighborhood where he grew up, like the crabpickers. "I read about crab pickers down on the eastern shore. All they did all day long was pick crabs––tedious, boring work. The conditions were awful. But one of them said, 'No matter what, I could still sing, and that was all I needed to get through to the next moment.'"

On stage, Jacobs is a magnetic performer whose expressive voice and virtuosic guitar playing have earned him tours alongside artists including Steve Winwood and Sturgill Simpson, as well as praise from Rolling Stone, NPR, and Paste.
