Poetry from the Land: Light & Time

Tonight · 9:00 PMto10:00 PM

Location

223 West Avenue · Saratoga Springs, NY

About

Join acclaimed author and storyteller Joseph Bruchac, Saratoga Springs’ former Poet Laureate and the city’s first to hold the role, for a poetry experience rooted in the beauty of Pitney Meadows. Drawing inspiration from the fields, forests, and shifting seasons, Joseph will lead participants in discovering how place can spark powerful, personal writing.

Open to ages 12 and up, this welcoming workshop is designed for all levels, whether you’re picking up a pen for the first time or returning to a longtime practice. FREE to attend, with a suggested donation.

Week Two (June 12): As summer is in full swing, light stretches long across the fields and shapes the rhythm of each day. In this workshop, we’ll explore how light, shadow, and time influence what we notice and how we feel. Using these elements as inspiration, we’ll reflect on moments of stillness, warmth, and change, and transform them into thoughtful, sensory-rich writing.

We encourage people to come to the whole six-part series to get the most enriching experience. This is not required, but suggested. Feel free to come to whichever ones you would like!
