Location

About

Drivers:
At the one-day Tire Rack Street Survival school, you will gain valuable skills to improve your driving techniques. You won’t just sit in a classroom listening to a boring lecture; you will be behind the wheel, driving through real-world exercises.

Check with the local registrar ahead of time to find out about the facilities. The classroom may be outdoors and you should be prepared for the weather — the schools occur rain or shine (rain helps some of the exercises).

Suggested items to bring:
- Sunscreen, hat, sunglasses for sunny days
- Umbrella and warm clothing if rain or cool weather is forecast
- A comfortable chair if you plan to sit outside
- A book in case you need a break while watching activities

Parents:
The program is designed to equip your child with valuable driving skills. You are encouraged to spend the day with your student and may attend the classroom portion while instructors are teaching. Instructors will be available throughout the day to answer questions about the course events your son or daughter are going through.

Many schools need extra volunteers. If interested in helping, contact the local school registrar when registering.

Do parents have to attend?
We cannot require that you come to the class, but we strongly suggest that you do. Join the classroom sessions to familiarize yourself with the material your child is learning. And who knows, even though you’ve been driving for many years, there just may be a few things that are new to you as well.

We also feel that the importance of driving education and seriousness of this issue is reinforced when your new driver sees you taking an active interest in what they are doing.
