Location

About

Join us for a program about that favorite of topics: beer. Fermented beverages have been part of the human experience for millennia and in early America, this simple fermented beverage was considered a daily food item. This presentation will focus on 18th century brewing, ingredients, and will examine the tools used, procedures and practice of making beer. Also explored will be how beer was created, consumed and by whom in Colonial America.

Samples will be given out to participants.

This program will be presented by Harvey Alexander and Kevin Richard-Morrow, both of whom have volunteered at historic sites and events throughout the northeast for many decades. For the last 20 years they have researched and recreated the roles of an 18th century brewmaster and his apprentice.
