Upstate bagel lovers and culinary trailblazers alike will enjoy this hands-on workshop all about crafting authentic New York–style bagels. Participants will explore every step of the process, including:
- mixing and kneading
- rising and fermentation
- shaping prepared dough
- boiling and baking
Along the way, we’ll talk about creative add-ins and flavor options that make homemade bagels uniquely your own.
This program will be led by member owner of Honest Weight Food Coop, Maureen Sara, a retired educator who believes in lifelong learning. With the encouragement of her youngest daughter, she began baking bread a year ago, and her most recent adventures in baking are bagels! Bread is life and life should be fun, especially in the kitchen.
