Evolfo | Secret Family | The Abyssmals

Evolfo is the sound that breaks through the fuzz on the low end of your radio dial and echoes out the back door of a pink neon lit bar. Mainstays of Brooklyn’s clubs and DIY spaces, as well as basement venues coast to coast, Evolfo has cut adventurous tracks through the U.S. and Europe, gaining initiates and devotees every time they cram onto a stage to deliver their live show. The band melts down decades’ worth of eclectic and bizarro records into a house-shaking mix of garage rock, cosmic music, psych, and soul. Like the faithful crate-diggers who have come before them, Evolfo mines the past for sounds and grooves history left on the shelf. When they breathe their smoke into these forms, it produces something new.

With two records, an EP, and multiple singles under their belt, the band is gearing up to release its most ambitious record yet. “Of Love,” the band’s third full-length LP, was born at Sound Home, a recording studio of the band’s own design in the Ridgewood neighborhood of Queens, NY. The album’s songs were edited and distilled from over one hundred hours of improvised recordings the band made together over many years. “Of Love” is set for release in 2026 on the band’s own label, Food of Love.

Between releases, Evolfo has remained active, playing in support of modern psych bands WITCH, Mystery Lights, Levitation Room, and Elephant Stone. In 2025, they ended their fall tour with a milestone performance at Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival in Golden Gate Park in San Francisco. They’re eager to keep the show on the road in 2026 as they continue exploring groove, cosmic music, and heavy psych.
