About
Aidan Samp is a drummer, percussionist, and “tone scientist” originally from Santa Monica, CA. He holds a BA in music from Bard College with a focus on jazz drum set performance and improvisation. He has studied and worked closely with Peter O’Brien as well as John Esposito, Thurman Barker, and Erica Lindsay. He was also heavily involved in Roland Vasquez’s Afro-Latin Percussion Ensemble, where he led and taught individual parts to peers. Aidan has led small and large groups playing both original compositions and arrangements of past and contemporary composers. As an educator, Aidan has taught all levels of drum set and percussion and believes in a holistic approach to student-initiated learning.
Aidan has studied North Indian Classical music with world-renowned Tabla player and member of the Miles Electric Band, Debasish Chaudhuri, as well as drum set with Hamir Atwal. He was named the “Herb Alpert Emerging Young Artist” and awarded a 40 thousand dollar scholarship for the undergraduate program of his choice.

This is the story of a band called Healers Co. Having cut their teeth in the DIY scene for decades, Healers Co. are finally gracing the planet with their stunning new record. Enter "Legacy Collection," a plunderphonic pastiche of dance, kosmiche, psych pop, and ambient soundscapes. The album occupies a strange junction between 90s dance, vaporwave, new-age psychedelia, city-pop, and a sprinkle of classic rock. Not for the faint of heart.
