Multi-instrumentalist Mino Cinélu’s list of collaborators reads like an encyclopedia of jazz greats: Weather Report, Herbie Hancock, and Dizzy Gillespie, to name just a few. But it was Miles Davis who changed the course of his career, inviting Cinélu to join his band and perform on albums including We Want Miles, Star People, and Decoy.
For Mino 4 Miles, Cinélu marks the jazz icon’s centennial with a special evening of music inspired by the years spent alongside Miles Davis; celebrating the creativity, curiosity, improvisation and fearless artistic spirit that Miles inspired in everyone around him. Moving between percussion, drums, guitar, keyboards, and voice, Cinélu draws together jazz, funk, rock, gospel, and musical traditions from the Caribbean, Africa, Europe, and beyond, all with warmth, spontaneity, and infectious joie de vivre.
