Virtual Book Talk: Surviving the Universe’s Twisted RPG with Matt Dinniman

Join us for our first ever virtual author talk featuring Matt Dinniman of Dungeon Crawler Carl and Operation Bounce House fame!

Matt Dinniman, bestselling author of the wildly popular (and just plain wild) Dungeon Crawler Carl series, joins us to chat about his latest book, A Parade of Horribles. In the books, Coast Guard vet Carl and his ex-girlfriend’s cat, Princess Donut, must try to survive the end of the world — or just get to the next level — in a video game-like, trap-filled fantasy dungeon.

In the eighth installment, chaos and mass panic spread outside the dungeon in the wake of Faction Wars, and Carl and Donut find themselves on the tenth floor, where they’re forced to compete in a suspiciously simple set of tasks. After each race, they pick an upgrade for their vehicle and the track gets more challenging. It all seems a little too normal.

Schedule:
- 6:00 PM — Viewing party begins with our Dirty Shirley bar (Shirley Temples for those under 21), dungeon-approved snacks, free book swag, and trivia featuring book one of the series. Trivia players will have a chance to win a copy of the upcoming special edition version of Dungeon Crawler Carl.
- 7:00 PM — The virtual author talk with Matt Dinniman will start.

Location and notes:
- The event will take place on the second floor of the library.
- The Children's Area will close at 5:00 PM this day to give up time to set up for the event.
- Staff will be able to grab books for patrons during this event.
- We do not have elevator access at this time.
