Ekphrastic Poetry Workshop with Deb Diemont In-Person

An ekphrastic poem is based on an image, whether a painting, sculpture, or photograph. We can write about famous artworks or personal images, such as old family photos, art we’ve made ourselves, or pictures we’ve taken. Images can inspire us by opening doors to memories or wider meditations about the world.

In this workshop, we’ll look at published ekphrastic poems as examples, then write our own. The library will provide books of images and artworks to choose from, or you can bring your own.

This workshop is free and open to all. If you’ve taken this workshop at Soule before, you’re welcome to take it again.
