Join us for an educational walk down the Le Moyne Woods nature trail. We will meet at Le Moyne College, behind the athletic complex on Springfield Road, in gravel parking lot AA. Click on the map next to “Attachments” or stop by the library to pick up a paper map.
The walk is under 1 mile long with gradual inclines. The trail is well-maintained, but be sure to wear comfortable footwear with good tread. This is a great way for budding birders to get started and become familiar with local bird species. Birding backpacks from NYS DEC are available to borrow from Soule Branch Library, and we will be using them during the walk.
Le Moyne Woods is about 30 acres, with multiple trails looping through it. As an important refuge for urban wildlife in the area, it has quite a bit of biodiversity. Check out the Le Moyne Woods Instagram page for photos of some of the wildlife you can find there: @lemoynewoods
