About
Inspired by the Pan African Youth Orchestra of Ghana, Schenectady’s Youth Orchestra is led by master drummer Zorkie Nelson, one of the original members of the first Ghanaian Pan African Orchestra. Instruments are traditional to African music, including the drum, bells, gourd xylophone (gylis), and the flute (atenteben).
- Meets: every Tuesday evening, year-round, 6:00–7:30 p.m.

- Open to: school-age youth, ages nine to nineteen
