About
From 1763–1776, Johnson Hall was home to more than 40 enslaved servants who labored in the mansion and the 700-acre farm that surrounded it. Their lives, labor, and community can be found in the Johnson Papers — so long as you know where and how to look!
Come learn how their stories can be rediscovered through reading, archaeology, and hands-on exploration. Participants will handle and examine reproductions of documents and objects pulled directly from primary sources as they explore the history, agency, and social lives of the enslaved in the Mohawk Valley and Johnson Hall.
For ages 6–12.
