Merrily We Roll Along is a daring movie musical that tells the story of friendship, ambition, and regret—unfolding entirely in reverse. The film begins at the height of success and disillusionment, then moves backward to reveal the hopeful origins of three young artists whose bond slowly fractures over time. At its center is composer Franklin Shepard (Jonathan Groff), whose pursuit of fame strains his relationships with his idealistic best friend and lyricist Charley Kringas (Daniel Radcliffe) and their sharp-witted, devoted friend Mary Flynn (Lindsay Mendez). As the narrative rewinds toward their earliest days, the film poignantly explores how dreams are born, compromised, and sometimes lost along the way.
