About
The Delightful® Run for Women is one of the largest all-female 5K races in the United States, held in downtown Albany, NY. The event features a 5K run through the city, with a spacious start near the New York State Capitol and a gradual downhill finish among urban parks and New York State architecture.
Other activities include:
- Capital Kids 3K Run for girls and boys ages 6–14.
- Kids’ Run: free mini races for ages 3–10 (participants receive a t-shirt and Freihofer's® Chocolate Chip Cookies).
- Health & Fitness Expo at The Armory at Russell Sage College: free, family-friendly health and fitness products, activities, and information.
The 48th edition of the Run for Women takes place on May 31, 2025. A subsequent race is scheduled for May 30, 2026. Registration is available online.
The Training Challenge prepares participants for the 5K, offering beginner, intermediate, and advanced training options.
