Gods Puppets

Written by award-winning Hudson Valley author and playwright Gwynne Watkins, directed by Buffy Maria Favata, and accompanied by the Beacon Rising Choir, God’s Puppets tells the story of Pauline, a young Presbyterian pastor who revives the church’s long-dead puppet ministry. She hopes to address being treated differently from her pastor husband because she’s a woman.

Using puppets like the creepy singing child “Little Ruthie” to tell stories about women in the Bible, Pauline doesn’t realize the chaos her feminist puppet ministry will create in the church and her marriage. The ministry launches her into an unanticipated crisis of faith, forcing her to confront the question: Is God pulling the strings or someone else?
