AJ Lee & Blue Summit bring a fresh jolt of California energy to bluegrass, pairing fiery picking and soaring harmonies with songs that stretch easily into blues, folk, country, and Americana.

The Santa Cruz-based band first met as teenagers at festivals and jam sessions and have since grown into one of the most exciting groups on the national roots scene. Led by AJ Lee’s soulful voice and mandolin, Blue Summit has the easy chemistry of musicians who grew up playing together, matched by sharp songwriting and formidable instrumental chops.

AJ Lee is a three-time nominee for Female Vocalist of the Year from the International Bluegrass Music Association, including a 2026 nomination alongside Alison Krauss and Sierra Hull. Together, AJ Lee & Blue Summit are, as the San Francisco Chronicle puts it, “carrying the torch for the next generation of bluegrass.”

About Fourth Stream House Concerts
Fourth Stream House Concerts is a Hudson Valley–based presenting organization known for its long-standing commitment to bluegrass and acoustic music. Co-founders and husband-and-wife Ruth Oxenberg and Rob Schumer have presented bluegrass throughout the region for many years and are directors of the documentary Bluegrass Journey (2003), which examines the history and evolution of the genre. They also curate the Bard SummerScape Bluegrass On Hudson series at the Spiegeltent.
