Step into 150 years of tradition at the 185th Schoharie County Sunshine Fair, held at the Cobleskill Fairgrounds from Tuesday, August 11 to Sunday, August 16, 2026. This six-day regional fair offers agricultural exhibits, carnival rides, country and live music, motorsports, and family entertainment.
Fairgrounds are open daily from 9:00 am to midnight. Heritage Village is open 11:00 am – 7:00 pm every day. Midway rides have staggered start times: 4:00 pm – 11:00 pm on Tuesday; 12:00 pm – 11:00 pm Wednesday through Sunday.
Daily highlights and specials include:
- Tuesday (Senior Day & Harness Racing): Heritage Village opens at 11:00 am; midway rides open at 4:00 pm
- Wednesday (Festival of Horses Day): Heritage Village opens at 11:00 am; midway rides open at 12:00 pm
- Thursday (Young American Day & Bicycle Giveaway): Heritage Village open 11:00 am – 7:00 pm; midway rides open 12:00 pm
- Friday (Tractor Pulling Day): Heritage Village and midway as above
- Saturday (American Hero Day): Free admission, including rides, for active and retired military with valid ID
- Sunday (Super 8 Motel Day & Parade): Regular hours
Admission is "Pay One Price" and covers unlimited midway rides, grandstand entertainment, all concerts, and daily parking. Prices vary:
- Senior Special (Tuesday): $10 cash ($10.40 credit card) for seniors 62+ (rides not included)
- Tuesday Admission: $18 cash ($18.72 credit card)
- Wednesday–Friday Admission: $20 cash ($20.80 credit card) per day
- Saturday–Sunday Admission: $23 cash ($23.92 credit card) per day
- Children 2 and under: Free admission; ride passes for $5 if meeting height requirements
- Everyday parking: Free on fairgrounds with admission
Enjoy grandstand performances, harness racing, demolition derbies, tractor pulls, chainsaw carving, food vendors, livestock shows, 4-H exhibits, and more. Cash and credit cards are accepted at entry. Special events include a free bicycle giveaway for youths on Thursday.
