Celebration of Life: Ellen Thurston - Hudson Hall
Location
About
Join us in celebrating the life of two remarkable women: Ellen Thurston and her great niece, Jennifer Thurston.
Ellen was one of Hudson’s great luminaries and a foundational member of the Hudson Hall Board of Directors. A devoted board member for more than twenty years, she was named Director Emerita in 2022 in recognition of her extraordinary service. As Carole Osterink wrote in her beautiful tribute in The Gossips of Rivertown, "Ellen was one of Hudson’s great treasures. Inventive, witty, generous, and kind, she was the very definition of indefatigable."
Jennifer was a dedicated environmental advocate and journalist who worked to protect communities and the natural world. In recent years, she was Ellen’s devoted caregiver, bringing compassion and commitment to her aunt’s care. As written in the Telluride Times, Jennifer will be remembered for "her kindness, loyalty and sensitive spirit as much as for being a warrior for environmental justice."
We hope you will join us to honor their lives and share in their memory. All are warmly welcome.
