The Revolutionary Stage

Join Rachel Stewart of Troy’s Scripts & Sips in the historic Schuyler Mansion for a presentation on the history of theater and performance in Albany from the eve of the American Revolution to the Federal Period.

Following the presentation, guests may volunteer to read aloud selections from Royall Tyler’s "The Contrast" (1787), the first professionally produced play written by an American.

Light refreshments will be served in the Visitor Center prior to the presentation.
