Brad Cole’s roots-based folk music draws on old-school jazz, rhythm & blues, and rock. His songs address the ups and downs of the human condition with wit and raw insight.

Over 12 years of touring, Cole has performed at venues including Lincoln Center, Wrigley Field, City Winery, The Hotel Cafe, The Ark, Rockwood Music Hall, The Cutting Room, Landmark on Main, and The Stephen Talkhouse, as well as festivals and tours of the UK and Ireland. He has shared stages with Chris Stapleton, Ingrid Michaelson, Hothouse Flowers, Shovels and Rope, The James Hunter Six, and Dave Davies of the Kinks.

Cole began recording in Chicago with his neo-ska-rock band Treatment and its album Musical Therapy in the early 1990s, followed by the rock EP The Second Story (1998). His solo albums include Highway 200 (2008), Exile (2010), and Down the Line (2012). His fourth full-length album, Lay It Down, was recorded in East Nashville with producer Joe McMahan and a group of veteran musicians.

Cole performed in Chicago’s club scene alongside artists including Junior Wells, Otis Rush, Uncle Tupelo, and the Smashing Pumpkins. His Chicago-based bands included Treatment, The Second Story, Psycholove, and Check with Lucy. His side projects include the jazz/blues project Bossa Blue and the trio Cole, Nakoa & Treacher. In 2016, filmmaker Steven Weiss made Cole Soul, a short film about Cole’s life and music. In 2021, Cole launched his sci-fi musical Songs From The Moon as a one-man show and podcast series. He currently lives in New York’s Hudson Valley.
