Josh Groban: Stage, Screen & Symphony

“Stage, Screen & Symphony” with Tony, Emmy, and five-time GRAMMY-Award nominee Josh Groban is a concert experience that brings together music from Broadway, film, and orchestra. The program includes selections from Josh’s new album Cinematic.

The 10-track album is a tribute to the grand, iconic music of the silver screen, featuring songs from films including The Godfather, Casablanca, Stand By Me, and Breakfast at Tiffany’s. The project was produced by Greg Wells. Standout moments include a moving rendition of “Stand By Me,” Josh’s interpretation of “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” from The Lion King, a sweeping version of “As Time Goes By” from Casablanca, and a new rendition of “Skyfall.”

“People can expect a night that is a celebration… songs that are big, sweeping and beautiful. To be able to do that live with such an enormous orchestra and choir is going to be like no other for me,” said Groban in a recent interview with The Daily Gazette. “I feel like live performance right now is something we just we need more than ever for our souls. It’s as much for me as it is for the audience, and to be able to sing songs that are so uplifting and remind us of our humanity is something that’s going to be a joy for me.”

- Broadway debut in 2016 in Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812 (Tony nomination). In spring 2023 he played the title role in Sweeney Todd, which earned Tony and Grammy nominations and received praise from Deadline.
- Founder of the Find Your Light Foundation, supporting arts, education, and cultural awareness.

About Sean O’Loughlin:
- Principal Pops Conductor of the Victoria Symphony and the Syracuse Orchestra.
- Has conducted the Boston Pops Orchestra, San Francisco Symphony, Chicago Symphony, Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, Minnesota Orchestra, National Arts Centre Orchestra, Atlanta Symphony, Dallas Symphony, Houston Symphony, Vancouver Symphony, and San Diego Symphony, among others.
- Has served as conductor for symphony tours with artists such as Josh Groban, Sarah McLachlan, The Decemberists, and the Jerry Garcia Symphonic Celebration.
- Collaborations include Alicia Keys, Journey, a-ha, Jason Mraz, The Beach Boys, Sarah McLachlan, Steven Tyler and Joe Perry, Pentatonix, Kelly Clarkson, Diana Ross, Gladys Knight, Pink Martini, Brandi Carlile, Melissa Etheridge, and others.
- Composer with works published by Excelcia Music, Hal Leonard, and Carl Fischer. An annual ASCAP Special Awards winner; composition fellow at the Henry Mancini Institute; holds composition degrees from New England Conservatory and Syracuse University.

- Lawn chairs must not exceed 43” in height when opened.
- Lawn chairs on the center amphitheater lawn must not exceed 26” in height when opened.
- Tents
- Tents of any size will NOT be permitted on the Amphitheater lawn or immediately in front of the Charles R. Wood Discovery Stage.

- Grills, cooking equipment, or any flame that uses a liquid, gas, or gel accelerant
- Laser pointers
- Drones
- Professional audio or video recording equipment
- Cameras with detachable lenses
- Bikes, rollerblades, skateboards, scooters, etc.
- Pets (except ADA-approved service animals)
- Illegal drugs or substances
- Weapons of any kind

Ground rules:
- Security procedure: all bags will be inspected and all personnel will be searched via metal detectors. Bags include coolers, baskets, tote bags, purses, diaper bags, strollers, and other containers. Any item not permitted should be disposed of or returned to your vehicle.
- Smoking is permitted on the SPAC grounds in designated areas only. Please dispose of cigarette butts properly.
- Guests may bring blankets and umbrellas but should consider others; disruptive items may need to be removed.
- Reentry is permitted for SPAC-produced events with a reentry wristband obtained from staff at the gates prior to exiting.
- SPAC has a zero-tolerance policy for harassment of any kind. Report any concerns to SPAC staff or security personnel.

Amphitheater house rules for classical performances:
- Beverages are permitted in the amphitheater, but food is not.
- Guests arriving after the performance begins will not be seated until the earliest appropriate opportunity at the discretion of House Staff.
- Please turn off or silence all mobile devices prior to the start of the program. If an emergency requires device use, step outside the theater.
- Video, photography, audio, or cell phone recording during performances is prohibited.
