The Altamont Fair

The 2026 Altamont Fair takes place from Tuesday, August 18 through Sunday, August 23 at the historic Altamont Fairgrounds in Altamont, NY. This annual tri-county fair features six days of carnival rides, agricultural shows, food, midway thrills, and free family entertainment. Included with admission are daily performances by the Royal Hanneford Circus, the Sherman Lumberjack Show, Robinson's Racing Pigs, The Dynamo Dogs, and live concerts by The Little Mermen & the Princess Pals.

The fair is open to all ages. Highlights include corgi races, demolition derbies, sensory-friendly hours, pie-baking contests, rodeo events, and nightly bands. On Thursday, August 20, sensory-friendly midday hours (12:00 pm – 2:00 pm) will be available, with lights and music turned down.

Gate and Midway Hours:
- Tuesday, August 18: General gates open at 12:00 pm, midway at 2:00 pm
- Wednesday, August 19: Gates at 10:00 am, midway at 12:00 pm, grounds close at 10:00 pm
- Thursday, August 20: Gates at 10:00 am, midday sensory hours 12:00–2:00 pm, midway open to 10:00 pm
- Friday, August 21: Gates at 10:00 am, midway open 12:00 pm – 11:00 pm
- Saturday, August 22: Gates at 10:00 am, midway open 12:00 pm – 11:00 pm
- Sunday, August 23: Gates at 10:00 am, midway open 12:00 pm – 8:00 pm

Ticket Pricing:
- Opening Day (Tuesday): $10.30 credit/$10.00 cash at the gate (ages 11+); Kids 10 & under FREE
- Wednesday and Thursday: $16.50 online; $15.45 credit/$15.00 cash at the gate; Kids 10 & under FREE
- Friday–Sunday: $18.60 online; $17.51 credit/$17.00 cash at the gate; Kids 10 & under FREE
- Special Free Admission Day (Wednesday): FREE gate admission for Senior Citizens (65+), Active Military & Veterans, and Grange Members with ID
- Unlimited Ride Wristband advance: $27.25 online (valid any single day, purchase by Aug 18 at 2:00 pm)
- Midway Wristband on-site: $30.00/person (Tuesday)
- Individual ride tickets available
