Stamps & Stories: The Brilliant Deep
Location
About
Come to the library for story time led by local artist Rachael Lorimer, followed by a hands-on printmaking workshop!
We will be reading The Brilliant Deep: Rebuilding the World's Coral Reefs written by Kate Messner and Illustrated by Matthew Forsythe.
Attendees create and swap stamps with each other, creating their own artwork inspired by the book. Attendees will leave with a few prints of their stamps and have a chance to print on a large, collaborative piece for display at the library. Stamps and Stories is a great inter-generational activity; kids can bring their grown up of choice.
All materials included, aprons and gloves provided but we suggest you dress for mess!
Rachael Lorimer is an abstract artist and founder of the Printmakers Guild of NY, a state-wide community of printmakers who celebrate print by developing opportunities to show and sell their work. The PGNY Gallery & Print Space is located in the Troy Atrium in Troy, NY, and open for workshops and activities throughout the year. www.printmakersguildny.com
