CHARLIE BERENS is Wisconsin’s most popular stand-up comedian, best known for creating feel-good, Midwest-focused comedy like his local news series "The Manitowoc Minute," his two specials, and the podcasts "Bellied Up" and "The Cripescast," which have garnered 12M+ followers and 3B+ views.
He’s the New York Times Best-Selling Author of "The Midwest Survival Guide," an Emmy-winning journalist, and a Billboard-topping bluegrass musician.
Charlie’s comedy comes from growing up in a big family—he’s one of twelve—taking pride in being a DIY-er, ice fishing, and gambling with his grandma. While grounded in Midwest culture, his stand-up tours have reached a national level, selling over 400K tickets in 113 cities across 32 states and including 9 arena shows in the past 4 years.
He works with many of Wisconsin’s homegrown brands, charities, and sports teams and reaches people most comedians don’t—heavily rural audiences, multiple generations, and both sides of the political spectrum. He has been the face of Wisconsin’s Annual Food for the Holidays Campaign for the past four years and has lately been advocating for Wisconsinites against A. I. data centers, squaring off with tech giants and politicians like a modern-day Erin Brockovich. Wisconsin gave Charlie a voice and now he’s giving back.
He recently launched his own brandy, Berens Old Fashioned Brandy, which was named after his Grandpa Bob, because naming it after himself would’ve been egotistical.
