About

The Big E is an annual fair featuring unique foods, agricultural exhibits, and special attractions, including a massive butter sculpture.

This year’s butter sculpture, themed for America 250, is displayed in front of the Mallary Complex. Created by expert carvers Jim Victor and Marie Pelton, it features a birthday cake for the nation’s semi-quincentennial, topped with General George Washington on horseback and decorated with iconic American landmarks and cultural callouts.

After the fair concludes, the butter is repurposed into renewable energy at a local dairy farm using anaerobic digestion, supporting agricultural sustainability.
