About
Balloons & Tunes Roundup is an annual event in Kanab, Utah, bringing together around 40 hot air balloon pilots for a weekend of festivities. The 2027 event takes place February 19–21.
Each morning at 7:30 a.m., weather permitting, hot air balloons launch from the former Coral Cliffs Golf Course at 755 Fairway Drive. The event also features a vendor fair along W 100 N Main Street, live music performances, a Lantern Launch Festival on Friday night (weather permitting), and a Balloon Glow on Saturday evening at Center Street/HWY 89, followed by a wrap-up concert.
Vendors are open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
Volunteers can apply to assist as balloon crew by contacting Jenna Corry at [email protected] or 435-879-1951.
Balloon sponsorships are available and include a balloon ride for two (weather permitting), swag, dinner, and daily banner display. Contact [email protected] for details.
Drone use is restricted because this is an FAA-waivered aviation event. Drones are allowed only in designated areas, and operators must follow FAA rules and maintain a safe distance from balloons. For drone inquiries, contact Bryan Hill at [email protected].
Lanterns can be returned to the Kane County Treasurer’s Office at 76 N Main Street, Kanab, for $1 per lantern.
All activities are subject to weather conditions. Updates are shared after pilot briefings each morning.
